Showing gratitude, being thankful and appreciative

I started a gratitude list last night and I must say I am already loving what it does to my emotions!

Writing a gratitude journal is an old concept recently revived by various gratitude phone applications. I’ve tried a few, and while they are pretty good, i still felt the absence of  real connection. Hence, I was pleasently surprised when I could gather so much positive emotions from a handwritten list.

I’ve always thought that being thankful would require a paradigm shift in mindset, but then i realised, it’s the little thoughts and reminders that help kickstart the process. More often than not, we are so caught up in “living” and “focusing” on goals (which morphed into endless wants and need), we forget what we’ve always had with us.

Instead of chasing after greener pastures elsewhere, we need to take care of the flowers around us, the ones that depend on us. With enough patience and love, our flowers can and will be the most beautiful flowers around.
